The Residential Tenancies Act of Ontario governs the Relationship between Landlords and Tenants. The Landlord and Tenant Board adjudicates matters relating to conflicts between residential landlords and their tenants in Ontario.
The LTB is a quasi judicial body that is granted court like powers to hear and rule on those conflicts under the Residential Tenancies Act. A tenant of a landlord may represent themselves or can request a qualified paralegal for assistance.
The role of the board to the public is to provide public information. They do not help with paperwork and
